It turns out the Colts don't look like an absolute dumpster fire of a team this year. O-line's doing better, defense is looking real good, and we can score on offense whether we have a starting QB/Johnathan Taylor or not. This is a weird situation to be in as a Colt's fan, especially after the past seven years.
"Is Andrew Luck gonna be healthy?"
"Hey, I think we got a chance at the Super Bowl with Luck this year!"
"Why is everyone booing at a preseason game? *checks phone* Oh fuck... No, please no."
"Rivers isn't actually that bad. Hope he finishes his career here, we could get him a Super Bowl."
"You don't seriously think they're going to get him because he and the coach bonded over a bible verse, right? RIGHT?"
"Oh you've gotta be fuckin' kidding me, grandpa's going to die out there."
So yeah, it's definitely been a merry-go-round of emotions for the past few years. Now though, there might be some semblance of hope. Our head coach is no longer trying to re-create "The Philly Special" every game, our O-line is getting their shit together again, and our defense kinda looks like a defense. One big thing I've noticed too is that our coach actually looks like he wants to coach us. Look at Frank Reich in comparison to Shane Steichen and tell me who you'd rather have arguing with the ref on a bullshit call:

Yeah, that answer is pretty clear.
Also, another thing that is much better about the coaching of the Colts is the simple and sweet play calling. If we are in the red zone and running the ball is working, guess what we'll keep doing? That's right, RUN THE DAMN BALL. Now before, all four of our downs would be wasted trying to out-think(?) the opponents. In a way we did, because sometimes they may have thought there was a chance we were going to score on them (gotcha!). As we've seen, the simple approach of going with the gameplan actually seems to be working a whole lot better this year.
Now, I don't think we're going to make a run at the AFC Championship this year, but this is a much better start. Shane is solid, Anthony Richardson is looking like a beast (given he doesn't break every game), and even Zack Moss has alleviated any worries we might've had with the run game (JT, please for the love of GOD, fire your fucking agent and play football). That's only the offense too. Zaire Franklin is leading the league in tackles, Leonard is back but still getting in the swing of things again, Buck and Grove look real good stopping the run, and the secondary is young so we got time.
I will definitely still be in a fit of delusion for the foreseeable future, claiming that every year we're going to get much farther than we should. The neighbors will still hear me screaming at the TV when the Colts get stuffed on a run on fourth down when I (in all of my infinite wisdom) thought they should've done a quick slant. But hey, isn't that what being a football fan is all about?
