I have been put between a rock and a hard place. If it wasn't already glaringly obvious by the style of my blogging, I am a fan of Barstool Sports, especially Pardon My Take. On said show, Hank Lockwood is a Patriots fan who is currently suffering. Although 99% of the time I love to see Patriots fans suffer, it is hard to see him go through it. Luckily, I have one solution to help his team rise back to (at least) mediocrity: Start Will Grier.
For those of you who don't know, Will Grier is currently signed to the Patriots practice squad. Okay, then why the hell should he be STARTING for the Patriots. Well, if you happened to watch the Cowboys this past preseason, you'll know exactly why. Will Grier found out he was getting cut from the team the same day of the final preseason game. To try and soften the blow, the Cowboys told him they were going to let him play the entire game in order to showcase his skill set to other teams. And this motherfucker balled out. 29 of 35 passes for 305 yards, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. 53 yards rushing and 2 more touchdowns. Yes, I know, "that's in the preseason, that don't mean shit". Ok, well what are the other options? Mac Jones? That's gone well. Bailey Zappe? He hasn't been able to do enough either. So now, instead of trying to come up with this genius plan on how to fix the quarterback that is super meticulous, say "fuck it" and throw Will Grier in there. He's essentially in the same spot he was that night with the Cowboys. He has nothing to lose. If he has a game that's even as half as good as that one, he'd still be better than Mac Jones' latest shit show. Seriously, look at the stats:
Mac Jones vs Saints on Sunday
- 12 for 22, 110 passing yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions
- 15 for 18, 153 passing yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions
- 27 yards rushing, 1 touchdown
