NFL Sunday Storylines: Week 7

This Sunday is shaping out to be a good one. Not for me, because the Colts face the Browns, but a good one for football in general. There's gonna be some good divisional games, some who's who games, and of course the "maybe these shitty teams will have a shootout" games. Regardless of which type, we can expect to be entertained tomorrow. After going 2-2 for my best GUESS bets last week, we're sitting at 3-5 total for the two weeks I've been doing this. We're trending up boys and girls, let's keep this ball rolling.

Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens: Does Detroit cement they're number one?

I think Detroit just might make this game not as close as it seems. They look too good. Every side of the ball is firing on all cylinders and they don't look like they've slowed down one bit. Other than the game against Seattle, the Lions have looked like the more put together team in every other one of their matchups. Baltimore's defense may be good, but I think they're facing their biggest challenge of the season this week with the Lions. Lamar has helped make the Ravens fourth in rushing, and his passing has actually been pretty good, despite the best efforts of his receiving corps to twist that narrative. A lot of people are going to be talking about the Lamar vs Goff battle, but I'm most excited for Lamar vs Aidan Hutchinson. I think we're gonna see a lot of back and forth between these two all game long. Aidan will come skull- drag Lamar sometimes, and then Lamar will shake him out of his boots other times. Keep you eyes peeled on that matchup the most, because those two sides on the field are the ones who need to be at their best Sunday. Let's just pray to God this doesn't come down to a field goal...

Final Score Prediction: Lions 28, Ravens 20

Best GUESS Bet: Detroit +3

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs: Are the Chargers in Purgatory?

Matchups between these two more often than not put on quite the show. For Kansas City, it's not about Mahomes and Co on the offense this year. It's been the defense that has been devastating to opposing teams, making everyone else's lives hell. And in the past two weeks, they've been the main reason the Chiefs have gotten wins. I wouldn't be too worried about the offense overall though. Patrick Mahomes can seemingly pick and choose when his "fuck you I'm the best player in the league" button turns on, so maybe that will happen with this division rival tomorrow. (It was not necessary last week against division rival Denver because they are ass) Justin Herbert is on his Phillip Rivers shit, being a great quarterback on the Chargers and never doing anything. Chargers have the tools to be successful, they just manage to put us on a whirlwind of emotions every other week, with Brandon Staley looking lost as fuck out there. It is not looking good for his job safety so far this year. The defense is just kinda there, and that is not the type of defense you wanna be against the Chiefs no siree. The Chargers are the only team to beat the Chiefs more than once in the division since Mahomes arrived, so maybe they can pull a win out of their ass once again. Personally, I don't think so.

Final Score Prediction: Chiefs 24, Chargers 17

Best GUESS Bet: Under 47.5

Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles: Dolphins try to beat a good team

If it wasn't obvious already for you, this is the game of the week. The Dolphins are looking awesome and they're fast as fuck. They have to really show up this week though, as they haven't won against a top team yet this year. Tua is looking very MVP-ish so far, and Tyreek Hill is just a cheat code. Raheem Mostert is having a career year, and they still have Jayden Waddle. If this offense plays like they have been this week, they might get the momentum they need to face their difficult schedule ahead. That might be hard to do with the Eagles defensive front. Jalen Carter already looks like a 5 year vet, he's looking as mean as they come. All the other Georgia boys are right there with him too, it's mostly the secondary that's going to have to catch up. If the Dolphins offense is hot this week, those Philly boys have GOT to score in the red zone. The brotherly shove can only get you so far. With AJ Brown and Devonte Smith, this should be more than possible (toss some to Goedert too, he's a beast). Jalen will just have to forget that last game and go back to MVP contending QB status. Both of these teams are going to bring out the best of each other, and it should be a show. How could I forget? THE KELLY GREENS ARE HERE! Damn, those uniforms are so fucking nice. You can't lose in those, I just don't see a world where that can happen.

Final Score Prediction: Eagles 31, Dolphins 28

Best GUESS Bet: Over 51.5

San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings: Is Minnesota moving on?

No I do not think the Vikings are going to upset the 49ers. They just simply do not have the tools to compete against these guys. I just want to see how much fight they're going to have. Kirk is obviously always going to be trying his hardest, but what about the rest of this team? What's the vibe like over there? It kinda almost seems the Vikings are ready to hit the reset button, and Kirk is not in that future. Jetta just might stay on IR and chill until next season if this team isn't competing. Jordan Addison will get his reps and get comfortable in the big leagues. Alexander Mattison will do nothing because he is not very good. A lot is going on in Minnesota, and they'll be a team to keep up with in the offseason. This is really just a 49ers get-right game. Purdy is probably going to destroy the Vikings secondary with Kittle and Aiyuk. McCaffrey is going to break the TD record. Fred Warner and Nick Bosa are going to make Cousins life miserable. The actual playing part isn't as interesting as the behind the scenes story here, but it's always fun to watch the 49ers absolutely dominate teams.

Final Score Prediction: Niners 34, Vikings 20

Best GUESS Bet: Niners -6.5

I think we're looking at a 4-0 week this time people, both with winners and bets, so be on the lookout. Last week was a fluke, the refs fucked me. Any loss that happens this week is also because of the refs, so keep that in mind. Nothing is ever my fault. Now it's time to get ready to drink and eat Dot's Pretzels (if you're not on the wave, un-fuck yourself).
