We have made it to Sunday. Week 5 is here so now we're starting to get a good gauge on who is good and who is not, what players are separating themselves from their peers, and what head coaches/players we can't fucking stand. Also, some surprise disappointments to keep those specific fans pissed off right when they were starting to get comfortable. So for this week, what should we as football fans be actually caring about? What storylines or games are something to actually pay attention to? I know a few things I'll be looking at, so I'm gonna go over what those are and what I think we’re gonna see.
Titans at Colts: JT got his bag, who's the legit team?
Are either of these teams going to prove their legit? The Titans are inconsistent as hell, one week looking like complete ass the next week looking like a competent football team. History has shown never to count out the Titans, so I'm not gonna do that. It's also been over 1000 days since the Colts have beaten the Titans, so that could be a factor. If any Colts team could do it though, it's this one. Better coached and a quarterback who isn't old, broken or both. A defense who remembered how to play defense. This game just might determine who's actually in it this year, and who's just going to slowly sink to the bottom.
JT got paid, so that's some great fucking news. Don't expect him all game, even though I think we're going to the Super Bowl now, he's probably gonna be on a snap count. I'm ecstatic to see him play again regardless. Treylon Burks is out, so the Titans might be limited in their options on offense. The tide might actually change on Sunday!
Final Score Prediction: Colts 30, Titans 24
Best GUESS Bet: Over 43
Eagles at Rams: Kupp is back, Eagles might finally slip
The Rams have beaten expectations this year, looking infinitely better than the dumpster fire last year. The Eagles, although still undefeated, have not been looking like the same Eagles. They're still outperforming a lot of teams, but they've also barely escaped their opponents more than once already this year. The Rams could be the team they don't escape. Stafford is looking solid and seems to be unkillable, Puka Nacua is a fuckin beast, and now Kupp is back to give some additional help. The chemistry between those three could make for a deadly offense. Their o-line is just going to have to hold up against the bulldogs that now run the Eagles defense. There always gonna be a problem, and the Eagles don't die easy, expect a good battle between these two.
Final Score Prediction: Rams 28, Eagles 24
Best GUESS Bet: Rams Moneyline
Chiefs at Vikings: Kirktober has begun, Mahomes needs mojo back
Kirk Cousins has been really solid for the Vikings this year, but his defense seems to not want to win football games. They showed up last week, but that was against the Panthers. The Chiefs are a different story, and Patrick Mahomes has a chip on his shoulder after being almost beat by Zachy and the boys on Sunday night. Patrick is 14-7 in October, so he also is a force to be reckoned with in the spookiest month of the year. But the known boogeyman is Kirko Chainz who is 15-5. The Vikings need this win a lot more than the Chiefs, their season is on the line here. The Chiefs could start 1-6 and I would still believe they're going to the AFC Championship game, because they just always fuckin do whether we like it or not. So Kirk, it's time to become the stone-kohl's killer we all know you can be. Jetta and Addison are more than capable of helping you out, but good luck. You got Chiefs fans and Swifties to worry about now. God Speed.
Final Score Prediction: Vikings 38, Chiefs 31
Best GUESS Bet: Vikings +3.5
Cowboys at 49ers: Brock is playing real Purdy, Dak is pissed (uh-oh!)
"You just wanna piss me off, I appreciate that". What a quote by Dak, although I don't think anyone felt intimidated or revved up by that. Good thing his defense is really good. Seriously though, this game is gonna be the watch of the week. The 49ers defense is suffocating, the Cowboys defense is fast and aggressive. The difference between them though, is that the 49ers offense is consistent and killer. Brock Purdy is still balling out, performing like a top 10 QB this year. McCaffrey is the early MVP, every week literally running past/through everything. Kittle, Aiyuk, Deebo? C'mon, these guys already seem like the Super Bowl Champs. The Cowboys are gonna be their biggest challenge. If Dak is on his game, he can throw with the best, and CeeDee Lamb is a pretty great target to get to throw to. It's either gonna be a shootout, or a kicking frenzy if both of these defenses are at the top of their game. Let's hope for the former so we can all enjoy our Sunday night. Two juggernauts clashing is always a good time though regardless.
Final Score Prediction: Niners 35, Cowboys 30
Best GUESS Bet: Niners -3.5
So that’s the stuff I think you should give a shit about this Sunday. Good storylines and good football (hopefully). Expect me to nail all of these predictions, and if I don’t I’m gonna come up with a really good excuse anyways so I’m feeling pretty good. Enjoy stuffing your face and drinking while the game TOTALLY LEGALLY streams on your phone and RedZone rolls on the TV!
NFL Sunday Ticket for 400 bucks? Fuck off.
