The Bills barely escaped the Giants last night. That is a sentence you never really think you'd type in 2023, but here we are. The Giants, who had their backup Tyrod Taylor playing instead of Daniel Jones, stayed competitive with the Bills until literally the very last second. The final throw decided how harsh I would be on the Bills writing this. Was part of it because they were my survivor league pick this week? Maybe, but it was also because they almost choked to the fucking Giants.
When the Bills are on their game, they look like a top five team in the league. When they're off, they look like a bottom ten team. Last night they looked like a bottom ten team with little flashes of playing how everyone expects them too. Overall it was shitty though. The Giants controlled just about the entire game, and if it were any team other than the Giants, they would've ran away with the win easily. Josh Allen struggled and his receivers not named Stefon Diggs struggled just as much. Rushing was going nowhere as well, constantly being stuffed by Bobby Okereke and the Giants defense. The Colts really decided he was the one not worth paying... That's upsetting. Anyways, the defense for the Bills was making Tyrod Taylor look like a starting QB, giving multiple opportunities for the Giants to score. They would then fail to do so because they are a shit team, but they definitely had chances to. Saquon ran all over the Bills, looking 100% his first game back and reminding everyone why he kept hype around him even when he was basically gone for two years. The Bills had no business winning this game, even with the last play being undeserving.
Where does Buffalo go now? They just lost to Jacksonville and essentially lost to the Giants yesterday. Their next three opponents are the Patriots, Buccaneers and Bengals. Right now, that could be a 1-2 run for them. They need to figure out how to not just get in a flow, but to stay in one. Consistent teams will beat out talented teams just about every time, and when you have both you win the Superbowl. Josh Allen has mountains of talent, but when he is struggling his flaws show bright and shiny. He doesn't have Daboll to keep him on the right track anymore, his performance is almost all on him from now on. If the Bills want to be the team everyone thinks they are, there is a lot of housekeeping to take care of. I'm not putting my money on them as of now. I hope they do figure it out though, because that team of destiny story really need the ending Buffalo and its great people deserve. Just don't lose to the goddamn Patriots, please don't.
Okay I'm just saying, it's never too late to make this guy a receiver. Tyrod's got it until next year.
