Here we are, folks. Week 10. This feels like it's been a weird fuckin season, right? Maybe I'm in the minority, but this season has definitely felt off. My best guess is probably because offensive production has seemingly fallen off of a cliff this year so we're not getting those good ol' adrenaline-pumping shootouts we're used to. Or it could be the fact that both the Bears and Jets have been taking the primetime slots and slowly sucking the enjoyment of football out of our souls. Who's to say?
Regardless of my feelings, there are still going to be games every week that we can still enjoy. Whether it be the top teams that are fighting for that first place spot, or the middle/bottom tier teams that just play an entertaining game to constantly keep their fan's hope wavering on a weekly basis. I can guarantee there are at least four games that you should be watching today, either due to the stakes of the game or the story behind it. For our weekly best GUESS bets, last week I went 3-1 so the tides are turning right? That makes 6-8 on the year, so the comeback is back on! Let's talk about some football.
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens: Do the Ravens prove they're the best?
This game is a must-win for Baltimore. A matchup that could end up deciding who wins the division and a statement that needs to be made by the Ravens. They have been playing their ass off, and they're only getting better every week. The defense is shut down and the offense is starting to get into a dangerous rhythm. The Browns are going to make it real, real difficult for Baltimore, though. They just finished shutting out Arizona and their offense showed a little life themselves. Myles Garrett is so damn good, I have just about convinced myself that he could chase down Lamar Jackson at full speed at this point. The secondary for Cleveland has been doing great, and could definitely make the Ravens' receiving corps uncomfortable, forcing turnovers at the drop of a hat. Don't expect a lot of scoring with these two elite defenses going to war, but still expect a good game.
Final Score Prediction: Ravens 20, Browns 14
Best GUESS Bet: Under 38.5
San Francisco 49ers at Jacksonville Jaguars: Have the 49ers un-fucked themselves?
The Niners are coming off their bye, and they better have gotten right over that time. Losing three straight is always shitty, but it's especially shitty if you were talked about being the best team in the league to start the season. It's no secret, San Fran has legitimately every piece they need to go and lift a Lombardi. Those pieces just need to click. Not having Deebo and Trent has affected them far more than it should've, and it definitely highlighted some weaknesses. Jacksonville is not the team you want to try and "get right" by playing. They are a top-five team in the league right now and are still riding their hot streak. Also coming off of a bye, they have five straight wins and this could be number six. In my opinion (even though I pray for their downfall), the Jags are the team to beat right after the Ravens. Every time that they win, their fire of momentum just burns brighter. The only thing they need to hope for is that this fire is burning too bright too early.
Final Score Prediction: 49ers 31, Jaguars 24
Best GUESS Bet: 49ers -3.5
Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals: Can Stroud sling with the best of them?
This game is on the list today purely because of how fun it could be. CJ Stroud is coming off of a fantastic 470-yard, 5-touchdown game against the Falcons. He is currently the no-questions-asked rookie of the year, revitalizing some much-needed life in Houston. They've been able to say "fuck the run" and just let Stroud sling it all over the field. Demeco Ryans is also looking like the change the Texans needed to light a new fire under their ass. Going against Cincinnati today will be a good litmus test of where they stand this year, and what a test it will be. Joe Burrow and the Bengals are fully in stride now, and they look super dangerous. Everything is going in such a smooth motion, it's looking like no one is going to stop them. Trey Hendrickson is one of the most underrated edge rushers in the league and is a big part of the defense coming together and looking competent. The Bengals are yet another AFC team that you do not want to be playing right now, and are climbing their way up the rankings fast.
Final Score Prediction: Bengals 30, Texans 21
Best GUESS Bet: Bengals -6.5
Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals: Kyler is back!
Oh it's true, it's damn true. Kyler Murray is back from injury and ready to try and stop the bleeding of the Cardinals' season. I have my expectations and hopes way too high, mainly because I love watching Kyler Murray play football. James Conner is also back for Arizona, so all the pieces of the offense seem to be coming together. With that offensive boost, we can expect the defense to have a little more life as well. Now we have the Falcons... I don't know man. If Bijan honestly does get some reps it will help the offense exponentially. Heinecke is just a slight upgrade to Ridder, but his willingness to take more risks could pay off for Atlanta. I'm not too sure what Arthur Smith is doing, but Kyler is back so that's why you should watch this game.
Final Score Prediction: Cardinals 21, Falcons 10
Best GUESS Bet: Cardinals +2.5
There are your games for the weekend. It's not a great slate for anyone, but it could be a fun one. The refs did alright I guess last week, so they better keep it up and give me a 4-0 Sunday to get in the green for my bets. I have a good feeling there's going to be a change in the tides today ladies and gents. Let's have a Sunday.
