NFL Sunday Storylines: Week 11

Aw shit, it's finally happening. A week of football where these games are just not it at all. Looking at the current slate, there's unfortunately not a lot to get excited about. This week is a lot of "watch these good teams pummel these bad teams" type of games. Obviously, it almost goes without saying that we are probably going to see some upsets and that part will be cool. The games themselves, though? Don't hold your breath. Fortunately, in all of my infinite wisdom, I was able to find four games that you should watch this Sunday. Yes, yes, I know. You don't deserve me. I'm a man of the people, it's what I do.

My bets did not look good last week, a very shitty 1-3. Really Arizona, you couldn't win by 3? That makes the record 7-11, so aka not a good record. That's okay though, because when I go 4-0 this week, I'll be back at .500! Let's see how right I'm going to be this week, shall we?

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns: More defense-reliant games in the AFC North!

This game is necessary to watch because we need to see how possibly fraudulent the Steelers are. The Browns have lost their massage-loving, lawsuit-dodging quarterback for the year, and are now looking at Dorian Thompson-Robinson to do something for them. The defense is still awesome, despite a small setback with the Ravens last week. Now they'll have a perfect shot at redemption with the Steelers' offense on the other side of the ball. The Steelers have one of their biggest challenges this week as they ask themselves the question: Does it all end here? They've gotten bailed out by facing shitty teams and therefore looking somewhat competent, but now they have to face a real defense that might just kill them. Or maybe the handicapped Browns will let the Steelers' road to above .500 become a lot easier to get to this year.

Final Score Prediction: Browns 17, Steelers 10

Best GUESS Bet: Under 32.5

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills: Which team is officially done for the year?

I am by no means saying that this game is going to be pretty, this is purely driven by storyline. The Bills fired Ken Dorsey, and now are rolling the dice with Joe Brady as offensive coordinator. Will the change help fix the Bills' struggles with offense? It's genuinely a 50/50 shot in my eyes, and that depends mostly on just the change of scenery. Other than that, the Bills could still definitely struggle again, especially against the Jets defense. That's truly what will determine the outcome of this game: how well the Jets' defense performs. We know all too well that the offense isn't going to do jack shit for them. If the defense keeps winning them games though, the hope for Rodgers to save New York will continue. If Buffalo chokes this one, their season is more than likely over, and Sean McDermott's coaching stint might be in jeopardy too. Hopefully, Josh Allen can go video game mode to save his coach's job tomorrow.

Final Score Prediction: Bills 24, Jets 19

Best GUESS Bet: Bills ML

Minnesota Vikings at Denver Broncos: These teams are good now?

What a rollercoaster it has been for these two teams. The Broncos looked like complete trash to start the season, having everyone think that Sean Payton was trying his best to win the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. Now Denver is on a three-game win streak, and Russell Wilson is the best QB in the red zone right now. Holy shit, I don't think anyone saw that coming. Then we have the Vikings. Started horribly, then got hot. Then Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles. THEN Josh Dobbs happened. What a story for that man, and so fun to watch it unfold the past couple of weeks. This game will actually be a battle worth watching now. We get to see if Russ can prove he's fully back or if Josh Dobbs can show every team that shipped him away royally fucked up (especially the Giants and Browns). If this goes Minnesota's way, you can officially label me as a Dobbs believer.

Final Score Prediction: Vikings 27, Broncos 20

Best GUESS Bet: Vikings +3

Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs: Yes, the rematch is here!

I am so glad that these teams are still good this year, it makes the rematch have every piece of hype it had before the season and more. The Kelce brothers, Hurts vs Mahomes, a redemption arc. This game has everything that we wanted it to. The difference this time around is that both teams have lost a little bit of fire offensively. The Eagles have struggled with red zone play and the Chiefs have struggled to get the ball downfield on a consistent basis. The defense for the Chiefs has been amazing, honestly saving Mahomes' ass when he's struggled. The Eagles defense has slightly regressed without Johnathan Gannon in the booth, but they still have the players to be elite so it's not been a big concern. This game is going to be awesome, and this time I see a different outcome.

Final Score Prediction: Eagles 31, Chiefs 24

Best GUESS Bet: Over 45.5

Okay so technically with that last game, it's going to be a Sunday/Monday storyline. To be fair these games suck, so I was really digging deep to get some content out. Themed blogs tend to get hard to consistently follow through with I've been learning, but hey a good challenge is always fun. Let's go 4-0 this week and have a Sunday!
